What are home lab tests?
Accredited laboratories in Saudi Arabia offer home sample collection: a technician visits to draw blood or collect samples, and results arrive electronically. It suits older adults, patients and busy families.
Common tests done at home
- Complete blood count (CBC).
- HbA1c and fasting glucose.
- Lipid profile and cholesterol.
- Kidney and liver function.
- Thyroid, vitamin D and vitamin B12.
How to prepare
- Ask whether fasting is needed and for how long.
- Drink water unless told otherwise.
- Tell the technician about your medicines, especially blood thinners.
- Have your ID and any doctor's request ready.
