Specialty decision pathway

Oncology: a second opinion before your treatment plan

A cancer diagnosis doesn't mean deciding alone. Oncology consultants review your reports, scans and proposed treatment plan so you understand your options clearly before you start.

When should you get an oncology second opinion?

How the HealTrip oncology pathway works

  1. Understand: we gather your file: reports, pathology, imaging and lab results.
  2. Review: an oncology consultant reviews the file, with surgery, radiology or pathology input as needed.
  3. Coordinate: we organise open questions and clarify what needs further testing.
  4. Clarity: you receive a written decision report in plain language: diagnosis, options and next step.

What you receive

Questions worth asking your doctor

HealTrip complements your doctor; it does not replace them. A second opinion helps you feel confident and make a shared decision with your care team. Cases are reviewed by physicians licensed by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, and beneficiary data is hosted inside the Kingdom.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a second opinion if my doctor is confident?

A second opinion is not a sign of distrust; it is common practice for major decisions and may confirm the plan or highlight alternatives worth discussing.

Which files do I need?

Diagnostic reports, the pathology report, imaging and its reports, recent lab results, and the proposed treatment plan if available.

Will a second opinion delay my treatment?

We aim for a fast, organised review. In urgent cases treatment should not be delayed and must be coordinated with your treating doctor.
